Touch down in Lombok babyyy! Fly into Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport, formally known as Lombok International Airport and we’ll pick you up there. Not literally grab you and throw you over our shoulders, but we’ll meet you with a smile and a wave. If you’re already over this way and are catching the boat from Bali, we’ll meet you at our lovely resort. Grab some rays, lay out by the pool soak in the Indonesian sun before dinner and drinks with Courtney Leopard & your new TruCrew!
Today we immerse ourselves in Indonesian culture & customs at a local Sasak Village. We’re taught traditional techniques passed down from generation to generation. Hey you might even be good at it, if not at least you can say you tried! Win win right? After we leave the village we’re off to in search of waterfalls! We take a trek through the jungle before we arrive at one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Indonesia. Cool off, take a dip, grab those insta snaps, it's a full day out! We head back to the hotel for a quick shower before we head for dinner and a beer or two with the TruFam.
DID SOMEONE SAY BEACH DAY?! You can’t visit Indonesia and not spend a day on the beach. Lucky for you, we know all the hidden gems of Lombok! We spend the day on a beach hop as we journey along the southern coastline. Grab a board, practise your surf skills or just sit back, coconut in hand and top up that tan. The evening is ours to spend as we please so we head back and get ready before we grab dinner together and see where the night takes us!
This morning we’ll pack up our bags and set off to our next destination, SUMBAWA! We set off via bus then jump on a ferry from Lombok to Sumbawa. Our next destination to the east and boy is it a good one! We arrive in the afternoon, take the rest of the day to relax and recharge by the pool. Hit the beach if you fancy it. It’s been a travel day so you deserve it.
Day 5
A TruExclusive! No one else is taking you here! We catch a boat over to Moyo Island for an amazing day getting off the beaten track. We explore waterfalls and beaches this picturesque island has to offer. Our little Indonesian secret place. A local guide show’s us around the island and all the hotspots and hidden gems the island has to offer. Pure and utter bliss. We spend the day dipping in and out of waterfalls, laying out on the beach and stopping for a local lunch. Is this the perfect day? It’s definitely up there! We jump back on the boat and head back to our very own beach on Sumbawa. Sunset’s in Sumbawa are up there with some of the best in South East Asia so grab your camera’s ready. You won’t want to miss this. Wind down after an epic day, falling asleep to the sounds of the sea.
Day 6
Today we head off on our very own Liveaboard boat, an amazing Tru Exclusive. We will be on a converted traditional wooden boat which has been transformed for this journey of a lifetime! Sharing a dorm style room on the top deck, and having traditional style showers it's a Truly backpacking experience you won’t get anywhere else! The first part of our voyage has us stopping off at Satonda Island, grab your snorkel and mask and take a dip in the salt lake crater. The unspoiled marine life is out of this world. We have a delicious local dinner sitting on the deck as the sun goes down. Beer in hand, it's been a sick first day at sea. Get ready to sail through the night as we carry on the adventure to the next destinations!
Day 7
Wake up, breathe in the fresh air of the Komodo National Park and admire one of the most beautiful sunrises you are ever likely to see. Kick back and watch the islands float past as you eat your breakfast. We’re sailing to Manta Point, a once in a lifetime opportunity to snorkel amongst the gentle giants. Manta Point is home to families of manta rays although intimidating in size they really are harmless, humble giants. We’ll be visiting Pink Beach. Yeah it’s really pink! Before we trek up to the stunning viewpoint on Padar Island for sunset. It really is out of this world. Before heading back to the boat for a cold beer, a moment you’ll never forget with your TruFam.
This is the day you’ve all been waiting for and as it’s our last full day together as a TruFam we had to save the best till last. We’re off to explore Komodo Island in search of dragons! These prehistoric dino like creatures are only found on 5 islands in the world! We’re guided around the island by the local rangers who explain everything you need to know. Komodo experts at their finest! What a way to spend the day! We bid farewell to our Captain and crew and check into our beautiful resort in Labuan Bajo Flores for one last dinner and drinks with the crew! It’s been an epic tour. Have a shot, party till your feet hurt, go back and cry into your pillow whatever helps with the thought of leaving your TruFam.
It’s check out day. Have a chilled morning. Give your TruCrew a massive hug, a fist bump, a wave. Whatever works for you.The goodbye’s don’t get any easier so we’ll just say see you later alligator, In a while crocodile. Our travel ninja’s are on hand to help you with any onward plans you may have. Relax on Flores, head to Bali or even book onto the next tour so we don’t have to say goodbye. It’s been a wild one.

What are the entry requirements for Indonesia?
All travellers will have to register for The All-Indonesia Arrival Card and this must be completed online 72 hours before arrival in Indonesia.
Submitting the form in advance generates a QR code required at immigration and customs.
Travellers can fill out the All-Indonesia Card directly online through Indonesia’s official website: https://allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id

What are the facilities on the Komodo Island Hopper boat like?
Is there AC on the boat? There is an AC in the bedrooms on the boat.
Does the boat have private cabins/rooms? The accommodation has 2-bunkbed rooms. 4 people per room.
Does the boat dock up at night? For the first night, we will sail through the night. The second night we will dock up close to Pink Beach.
Does the boat have bathrooms? The boat has 2 western toilets and a traditional shower.
Does the boat have free drinking water? - Yes, fresh water is provided on the boat.
What type of food is served on the boat? We serve a mix of traditional Indonesian food/fresh fruits catering to all dietary requirements.
What is the layout of the boat? We have 3 main living/relaxing areas on the boat. On the upper deck, we have a sun lounging area with bean bags too. On the main lower deck is a larger covered communal area. Here you can escape the sun, make tea and coffee and where we eat our dinner together family share style. On the front upper deck, we have another larger sun lounging area with more bean bags.
Which airport do I need to fly into?
You will need to fly into Lombok international airport (LOP). Please note when booking a return flight home on Day 9 that we recommend the earliest you can fly is around 4pm from Denpasar to allow for your journey back from Labuan Bajao (LBJ) which needs to be taken via internal flight.
What is the closest airport to the end destination?
Labuan Bajao (LBJ) is the closest airport to the end destination. From here you can catch internal flights back to Bali or limited international flights.
How do I get back to the start destination and is this included in the price? If not, how much is it?
You will need to book an internal flight from Labuan Bajao (LBJ) to Lombok (LOP)– This can be booked for as little as £50 if you book early.
What kind of accommodation is included on this trip?
The accommodation for this trip is all twin share private rooms apart from on our Live-aboard boat which is shared dorms.
